The Role

We’re seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Airworthiness Manager to support MRO Services and the wider Salus Aviation group in achieving “Excellence at Altitude.” This is a pivotal role responsible for standardising airworthiness management, strengthening technical services capability, and ensuring the ongoing safety, reliability and regulatory compliance of our fleet across domestic and international operations.

About the Job

You will lead the development and oversight of airworthiness systems, maintenance control processes, technical records, AD/SB management, reliability programs and technical support frameworks. As a key interface between Salus Engineering, OEMs and operational teams, you’ll ensure clear, accurate and timely technical communication across the business.

This role also supports international start‑ups, fleet transitions, and the growth of our third‑party airworthiness services.

  • Airworthiness oversight for company and customer aircraft, including pre‑buy, lease, entry‑into‑service and international transfer inspections
  • Maintenance control to ensure aircraft are maintained within approved AMPs and to required standards
  •  AD/SB review and management for company and customer fleets
  •  Technical records management, including CofA, export CofA, CofR and regulatory transfer documentation
  • Develop and maintain maintenance planning tools for forecasting, budgeting and long‑term planning
  • Create and maintain reliability programs to optimise maintenance and improve aircraft availability
  • Develop critical items lists and spares strategies per aircraft type and location
  • Support new aircraft entry‑into‑service and international operational start‑ups
  • Act as custodian of OEM technical data, ensuring consistent and compliant use across engineering
  • Support engineering teams with base and line maintenance planning and execution
  • Promote safety, compliance and best practice, contributing to M‑LOSA reviews and engineering standards
  • Drive KPI improvements related to AOG downtime, maintenance efficiency and return‑to‑service performance

 

About You

We’re looking for a seasoned aviation engineering professional with deep technical knowledge and strong leadership capability.

Essential:

  • 10+ years’ aviation engineering experience
  • In‑depth knowledge of airworthiness and regulatory frameworks (NZCAA, FAA, EASA)
  • International experience and willingness to travel
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or maintenance management role
  • 5+ years leading and developing teams
  • Experience improving workflow in a heavily regulated environment
  • Proven ability to drive improvements, reduce costs and add value
  • Strong understanding of aviation processes, components and design techniques
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Efficient, well organised and takes pride in quality work
